Cuteness as a weapon

I think that God gave some animals a natural defense. Porcupines have sharp quills to ward off attackers, the octopus can spray ink to thwart an attack. And for children, God gave them cuteness. How else can you explain how I could walk in on this freshly created mess this morning, created by my lovely daughter and not get mad. She looked at me and said, “Hi Daddy”, and I could do nothing but smile. As if that weren’t enough, when I told her we needed to clean it up, she started singing the “Clean-Up Song” and putting things away. Too cute for words.
